The Meriden YMCA is excited to announce the addition of four new specialty camp offerings for 2018! Camp options now include Music Camp, Cooking Camp, Karate Camp, and Lacrosse Camp.

Adult family members of children in the YMCA Head Start program were offered free health screenings Thursday afternoon at the YMCA Head Start school on Liberty Street.
Parents and guardians picking up their children after school could spend a few minutes having their blood pressure and eyes screened, and collect information from SNAP-Ed about healthy living. Head Start also offered platters of fresh vegetables, water and Goldfish crackers.
“One of our goals for Head Start is to look at obesity,” said Patti Bastiaanse, health and nutrition manager for Head Start. “We’re seeing it not only with our children, we’re seeing it with our adults.”
Bastiaanse said the goal is to promote healthy living through nutrition, exercise and weight loss.
The NBC CT Snow Monster weather truck visited the Meriden YMCA and some participants of the Snow Day Club got a special treat!

In a light drizzle on the Maloney High School football field, 33 children from the Meriden YMCA's Little Spartans and Little Panthers preschool programs geared up for a mini-Powder Puff game.
During November the Y is honoring the serivce of local veterans, active duty and reserves by saying thank you and supporting their health and wellness.
From November 1st through November 30, 2017 local veterans, active duty military and reservists and their families (who are not currently members) will have complimentary access to the Meriden YMCA and New Britain YMCA locations to work out and spend family time together.
The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCAs and Casa Boricua of Meriden are collaborating to help families on the Western part of Puerto Rico. A shipping company has donated their services to have supplies shipped at no cost for both organizations. Supplies and/or monetary donations must be brought to either organization no later than Friday November 10th.
The Meriden – New Britain – Berlin YMCAs will be accepting donations of money and supplies to help the families of Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricanes Maria and Irma.
