In Y dance programs, kids and teens can explore rhythm, movement and a variety of dance styles while engaging in fun, physical activity.
Over the last five years, our Arts programs have continued to grow with one goal at the heart of everything we do: build great shows and great kids. These classes are open to all students, not just MYT participants.
Announcing acadeMY Tuesdays and Thursdays!
Our workshops this fall on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be led by our MYT staff. These include dance classes as well as acting and music workshops. These classes are open to all students, not just MYT participants.
Our MYAcademy dance classes will provide dancers of all levels with a necessary understanding of Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theater technique. Each class will offer time for training, learning musicality and practicing combinations. Our students will benefit from learning movements that aren’t often broken down in dance rehearsals.

Meet Our Dance Teachers
Miss Morgan
Morgan has been teaching dance at the Y since 2018 and continues to explore and learn various styles of dance such as tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre, contemporary, modern, pom, kickline, and more! During college, Morgan continued her dance journey and performed in various showcases and was part of Springfield College Pride Dance Team, SC dancers, and Best Of Broadway club. Morgan continues to strengthen her technical skills by attending classes and workshops as much as possible. She is excited to share her passion with her students!
ASL Contemporary class
Experience a fresh approach to movement in ASL contemporary, a creative movement class that incorporates American Sign Language (ASL) components into expressive choreography. This is a creative movement class—not an ASL class. Students will focus on learning choreography while incorporating ASL.
Rather than teaching ASL as a language course, this class introduces signs that complement the choreography and enhance emotional expression, musicality, and storytelling through movement. Taught by a Hard of Hearing (HOH) instructor, this class is inspired by her personal experiences as a HOH dancer and her ongoing journey learning ASL. While she is not a certified ASL instructor, she enjoys thoughtfully incorporating ASL into choreography as a meaningful way to inspire creativity, connection, and an appreciation for inclusive communication through movement. Open to all experience levels for grades 6-12, this welcoming class encourages students to grow artistically while exploring new ways to connect, communicate, and express themselves through theater/dance.
Please note: The instructor has conversational proficiency in ASL but is not fluent. This class is taught in English, with ASL elements incorporated into the choreography as a creative tool for expression and connection. An ASL interpreter is not provided at this time.
