The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCAs and Casa Boricua of Meriden are collaborating to help families on the Western part of Puerto Rico. A shipping company has donated their services to have supplies shipped at no cost for both organizations. Supplies and/or monetary donations must be brought to either organization no later than Friday November 10th.
The Meriden – New Britain – Berlin YMCAs will be accepting donations of money and supplies to help the families of Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricanes Maria and Irma.

The Meriden YMCA has opened a new early learning center for infants, toddlers and preschool-age children on Johnson Avenue. It is the organization’s third day care facility in the city.

The YMCA will mark its anniversary on the Meriden Green with the Record-Journal on Sept. 17 with a host of family activities and entertainment. The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. The newspaper is also celebrating its 150th anniversary.

The Meriden YMCA congratulates the winners of our Fall 2016 Biggest Winner Weight Loss Challenge! In first place is Brent Mount, who lost 26.2 pounds, 8.2% of his body weight. Our second place winner is Radhika Marathe who lost 12.4 pounds, 7.6% of her body weight. Third place winner is Cristina Gutierrez who lost 17.5 pounds, 6.9% of her body weight. Great job! Business owners, managers, and employees joined in at the 2nd business connection meeting hosted by the Economic Development Commission. Recently the Berlin YMCA facility on Main Street has expanded to offer more programs in collaboration with Meriden and New Britain.
The Meriden YMCA welcomes Dondre Taylor to their staff. Dondre is a licensed massage therapist who was trained at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington.
