On Saturday, Oct. 26, princesses, super heroes, ghosts and goblins gathered at the Meriden YMCA Mountain Mist Outdoor Center for an evening of Halloween family fun. Over 600 people enjoyed pumpkin decorating, hayrides, music from The Rips, and a guided tour through our Misty Night Halloween Trail in the woods. The Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans played in the Super Bowl at Ceppa Field Monday night, more than 1,500 miles from either city. The opposing teams were not NFL franchises, but squads consisting of 5- to 7 year-olds playing in an NFL-sponsored YMCA flag football league and competing for the championship in their age group. A second Super Bowl — this one for the 8- to 10 year-old division — pitted the Carolina Panthers and the Chicago Bears.
