About the Disc Golf Course and CT Lions Pathfinders Camp

This course and tournament are named in memory of Alan Daninhirsch from the CT Lions. Alan worked tirelessly with the CT Lions Club, Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA, CCMC and Yale-New Haven Hospital to create a summer camp for children with diabetes. He was instrumental in securing the support of the CT Lions for the Pathfinders disc golf course as well.

The Pathfinders program, one of the many Lions Club Diabetes Camp programs worldwide, is designed to help enhance the quality of life for young people living with diabetes. This program fosters relationships that will help participants expand their diabetes management skills and increase knowledge of the disease.  At the Pathfinders camp, youth gather and form a supportive network of peers and improve their diabetes management through educational and physical activities at a site away from home or school.

The CT Lions Pathfinders camp has two one week sessions in August at Mountain Mist Day Camp.

The disc golf course is available for use by Mountain Mist campers during the camp day, and Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA members and nonmembers. To learn more about the camp and the course, contact Carolyn Daniels at cdaniels@meridenymca.org.
