YMCA Adventure Camp in Meriden, CT
At the Meriden YMCA, our Adventure Camps are designed to give campers a memorable summer filled with hands-on fun, outdoor exploration and skill building. These specialty camps offer unique experiences where campers learn fishing techniques at nearby lakes, and fort building, where campers work together to design and construct forts using natural materials. Campers will also enjoy traditional camp activities like swimming. Each Adventure Camp session creates opportunities for children to challenge themselves, make new friends and build confidence in a supportive, supervised environment led by trained Y staff.

Campers learn the basic techniques of fishing at some of Connecticut’s best lakes and ponds.
This camp combines the fun of fishing in the morning with traditional camp activities in the afternoon. The bus will leave from Mountain Mist at 9:15 a.m. to transport children to activity then return back to Mountain Mist between 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. for lunch and traditional camp activities in the afternoon.
- Grade: Completed grades 3 and up as of June 2026 (max age 16 years old)
- Session 1: June 15 - June 26, 2026 (there is camp on June 19)
- Session 3: July 13 - July 24, 2026
- Session 5: August 10 - August 21, 2026
- Full Member fee per session: $404
- Program Member fee per session: $464
- $125 deposit per session
- $35 one-time Camp Improvement Fee
- Max of 10 campers per session
- Campers will need to provide their own fishing poles and tackle.
- Bait will be provided by Mountain Mist Day Camp.

Fort Building Camp
Remember how cool it was as a kid to make forts in the woods with your friends with whatever materials and natural resources you found? Let your child discover the fun of creating something, learning to work with others and making a cool fort! Campers will construct the fort during morning activity periods and participate in traditional camp activities including swimming in the afternoon.
- Grade: Completed grades 3 and up as of June 2026 (max age 16 years old)
- Session 2: June 29 - July 10, 2026
- Session 4: July 27 - August 7, 2026
- Full Member fee per session: $404
- Program Member fee per session: $464
- $125 deposit per session
- $35 one-time Camp Improvement Fee
- Maximum of 10 participants per session.
