The Olympics in Rio are five weeks away and the world will be watching.
Wedneday in Meriden, some seniors put their best athletic ability forward. They competed at the YMCA in their version of the Olympics. Competitors showed up for basketball, and other events which included speed, agility, and memory.
“We have a great group of active older adult members and they like to have fun. We rotate events every month, from bringing in health and wellness speakers to doing fun, active events,” said Joan Goodman of the Meriden YMCA.
Just like the real Olympics, medals were handed out for the top three in all competitions.
