The Meriden YMCA is excited to welcome Eric Carrero to our fitness staff.
Eric is a Personal Trainer and holds a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy, offering a clinically informed approach to exercise and movement training. His experience across healthcare, athletic, and community-based settings allows him to work effectively with individuals managing movement limitations, returning to exercise after injury, or seeking to maintain strength and independence as they age.
Eric specializes in strength and mobility training that supports joint health, functional movement, and long-term physical resilience. His programming emphasizes proper mechanics, progressive loading, and individualized exercise selection to ensure training is both safe and effective for a wide range of abilities and goals.
In addition to working with adults and older populations, Eric has experience training high school athletes, focusing on foundational strength, movement quality, and injury risk reduction. He holds multiple strength and mobility certifications and integrates evidence-informed principles into his coaching to support sustainable, lifelong physical activity.
