Dear Y community:

The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA serves thousands of local families and individuals each year. During the COVID-19 closure our Y continued to serve by:

  • Offering free emergency child care for essential workers;
  • Feeding families and individuals in need;
  • Keeping our members healthy with daily virtual workouts, wellness tips and recipes;
  • Offering free art, dance and STEM virtual classes;
  • Engaging families with virtual game nights;
  • Continuing to house close to 90 men in our Hart House Member-In-Residence program;
  • Planning for summer camp, and for reopening our main facilities and child care programs.

Since we reopened we've provided safe summer fun for over 400 children per week at our summer camps who are smiling, laughing and enjoying the best summer ever.  Our members our coming back to the Y and we're offering Senior Hour three times per week. Our child care programs are open and we are carefully resuming programs that were interrupted such as swim team, swim lessons, and gymnastics, with more planned for the Fall.

Our YMCA has helped keep our community healthy and we ask that you please help us continue to do so. Your support is more critical than ever as we anticipate a much greater need for financial assistance this year for child care, summer camp and more. Please join us for our golf tournament. Proceeds benefit the YMCA Annual's Support Campaign for scholarships to serve our community.

Thank you for you continued support,

Sincerely,

John Benigni, CEO, Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA
Steve Markoja, Branch Executive Director, Meriden YMCA
Marci Moskal, Branch Executive Director, New Britain and Berlin YMCAs

About the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA Annual Campaign

At the Y, no child, family or adult is turned away. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected, and secure. Last year we helped our neighbors by providing over $100,000 worth of free or subsidized services to children and families in our community. Through our Annual Campaign we provide scholarships for summer camp, swim lessons, youth sports, the P.A.C.E program to break the cycle of childhood obesity, child care, family memberships, and more.
