Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA Policy Update
Effective May 19, 2021
Here are the updated mask policies for the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA based on the new CDC and State of Connecticut guidelines:
- Our members entering the building ages 12 and older will not be required to wear a mask if they have been vaccinated. We will be following Governor Lamont’s advice and will utilize the honor system with our members.
- Masks are required for those who are unvaccinated, for those in child care and school based programs, and for any Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA staff person working with children.
- Swim instructors will continue to wear face shields while teaching.
On May 19th the Connecticut Department of Public Health will issue revised recommendations and considerations for masks in businesses, large gatherings and events, and other settings, as well as more detailed descriptions of the settings where masks will continue to be required.
We reserve the right to make changes to our policies as needed as new information becomes available from the State of Connecticut. We will communicate any changes to you. As always the safety of our members, staff and volunteers is our priority. Thank you for being a member of our Y.
