Furloughed employees facing financial hardship due to the government shutdown can turn to the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA for membership assistance during the shutdown.
John Benigni, CEO of the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA explains, “The Y understands that the temporary loss of work can create stress for families impacted by the shutdown. Staying physically active is important to reducing stress and taking care of your health. The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA is here to help any members dealing with financial challenges as the government shutdown continues. We want you to continue your membership during the shutdown without financial strain. Please contact our membership staff as soon as possible so they can assist you.”
The YMCA will also be offering furloughed employees free trials during the shutdown if they are not currently members.
Furloughed workers should bring their government I.D., and any furlough documentation to the Member Services Desk of the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA location they will be attending.
