About Us

Dear YMCA Members,

At the Y, we exist to strengthen community. Together, with people like you, we nurture the potential of kids, improve our community's health and well being and give back and support our neighbors.

Through the genoristy of our donors and members, we have helped our community with scholarships and financial assistance to:

• help our hard working families send their children to safe nurturing child care programs;
• provide scholarships to over 30% of our campers at Mountain Mist Day Camp so these children could have fun, realize who they are and what they can achieve, and make friends;
• offer financial assistance to members like Teri Randall, a single mom of two daughters who turned her health around by  losing over 90 pounds, reducing her blood pressure, teaching her children to live a healthier life, and inspiring others to do the same;
• launch a new program to fight childhood obesity and built a new Exergame Fitness Arcade to get kids involved with "kid powered" interactive games to get them moving and on the path to a healthier life;
• provide holiday meals to our local families at our Thanksgiving and Christmas Community dinnersas well as deliver to those who are homebound.

We have helped build our community since 1866.  All of your donations go directly to Meriden's kids and are 100% tax deductible.  Thank you for helping the Meriden YMCA strengthen our community, our kids, our families.
